On the home, they will offer Guaranteed Replacement coverage - this is
important.
Options you can consider are
Water and Sewer Drain Backup coverage up to $10,000. (it adds about $40-60).
Siding and Roof Restoration coverage up to $10,000. (it adds about $20-50)
Earthquake Damage -deductible 5% - (adds about $48-78) This one is not as usual.
You will need to know your new home finished square footage, approx. distance to
a fire hydrant, age of the house, and type of construction-most are frame these
days.
That should be enough to get you a quote. When you compare always confirm the
Dwelling coverage amount and deductible that each company is quoting on.
For instance, you do not need to cover the land so the dwelling cost to rebuild
will be less than the purchase price of the home and your deductible may be $250
or higher.

rates - you can use this to compare relative costs between companies as they
have to file rates with the Virginia government. Also on the linked page
